Stop the Pain from Prostate Radiation Injury

If you’ve received radiation treatment for cancer, you may be a candidate for hyperbaric oxygen therapy to resolve pain and other symptoms of radiation injury.

Cancer free. Those words are even sweeter if you or a loved one has survived cancer. Unfortunately, being cancer free isn’t always the end of the healing journey. Radiation therapy fights cancer, but tissues and bones can oxygen content during radiation therapy. Even the cells making up our blood vessels can be damaged.

When you start feeling pain in a previously radiated area, you may feel conflicting emotions: gratitude that the cancer is gone and frustration that you are not symptom-free. Pain from radiation to the pelvic region may seem like fair trade to be cancer free, but help is out there.

At HyOx, we see and treat cancer survivors suffering from pain and other radiation injuries. Sometimes these injuries occur years after radiation treatment. Regardless of how long it has been since a patient’s last radiation treatment, hyperbaric oxygen reduces and resolves radiation complications, including lingering pain.

Watch as I explain how hyperbaric oxygen therapy stops the pain from radiation injuries to the prostate and pelvic region.

Video transcription:

“In areas of the body like the pelvic region blood vessel cell damage and decreased blood flow to the soft tissues from radiation injury are difficult to treat. With adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen therapy, pain, discomfort, and swelling are dramatically reduced enabling healing in those compromised tissues in prostate cancer and other pelvic malignancies.”
