The HyOx Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber

At HyOx, the treatment environment and comfort are vital to a positive patient experience and outcome while undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy for complications of cancer, infection, trauma, wounds, and other conditions including workplace injuries.

The HyOx Difference: Our Atlanta-based hyperbaric oxygen therapy center (in Marietta near the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Park) features Georgia’s largest multi-patient chamber (accommodating up to 12 patients). Our hyperbaric chamber provides more safety, space and comfort along with the added value of a board-certified hyperbaric physician, certified nurse or technician inside the chamber with patients during treatment to assist and attend to patient needs.

At 31’ X 9’ in size, the non-claustrophobic hyperbaric chamber allows patient flexibility to sit up or recline, read, work or watch a movie. Space is available for critical patients to remain in a hospital bed if needed. HyOx’s hyperbaric chamber is engineered by Gulf Coast Hyperbarics in Florida. Clients include NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston and other distinguished healthcare facilities in the nation.

HyOx delivers hyperbaric oxygen therapy in its spacious multi-patient hyperbaric chamber located in its Atlanta accredited facility.

Example of a monoplace chamber commonly found at other hyperbaric faclities.

In single-patient or monoplace chambers, common in the Atlanta area, the chamber has to be depressurized before medical personnel can access a patient in case of an emergency. Patients also have to be lying down.

At HyOx, patients are treated at a pressurized depth equivalent of 45 feet below sea level (or 2.4 ATM) in its multi-patient chamber resulting in a 10 to 15-fold increase in tissue oxygen content to promote and accelerate healing along with traditional wound therapy for approved, evidence-based medical conditions.

HyOx’s hyperbaric chamber is regularly inspected and adheres to stringent operating safety standards enforced by Shane McKinnon, EMT-P, CHT, A-DMT, Technical and Safety Director.
