The patient, a 62-year-old female with a significant past medical history of asthma, diabetes mellitus and hypertension, underwent a total knee arthroplasty, secondary to left knee end-stage osteoarthritis. Her knee components were cemented along with autologous tissue grafting. Immediately post-operatively, wound blistering at the surgical site was noted. Despite being one-month post knee surgery with close orthopedic supervision for fluid removal, antibiotic therapy and chronic immune suppression therapy, the patient’s knee flap had not resolved. The patient was referred to HyOx Medical Treatment Center and participated in 20 hyperbaric oxygen treatments.

Result: Full closure of knee wound and pain resolution.
