Crush Injury – Right Ankle


The patient, a 47-year-old white male with diabetes, was presented to HyOx with a crush injury to his right ankle after an accident on his four-wheeler.  Eight days after the accident, the patient underwent an ORIF of the right ankle. The patient related difficulty with wound healing, some numbness on the dorsum of the right foot and tenderness on the lateral side of the leg. The patient participated in his hyperbaric treatments from 11/18/2005 through 2/20/2006 for a total of 58 hyperbaric treatments.  End Result:  Several months after treatment, the patient went on to totally heal his wounds. His physician was pleased with the outcome. He also did well using Profore to decrease edema in his lower extremities.
